Bellator Signs 18yr old…

18 year old grappling superstar Marcin Held (10-1) has signed to Bellator Fighting Championships. The lightweight fighter began training in jiu jitsu at the age of 8 and earned his purple belt at 17. He currently holds a brown belt in jiu jitsu.

Held holds notable wins over Bojan Kosednar and Jean Silva. Half of his wins have come by submission. His only loss was to Lukasz Saiewski, who defeated him by unanimous decision.

He has a very technical and aggressive style and is very effective off his back. Held has a dangerous top game as well. His stand-up game[einset][/einset] is very controlled and technical, although not very explosive.

We’ll be watching Held facing Juha-Pekka Vainikainen (11-5) on November 6th. Vainikainen is coming off of a loss to Maciej Polok, who defeated him by triangle choke. Held, on the other hand, is on a two-fight winning streak. Both fighters are very well-rounded, so it should be an exciting matchup.
