Bibiano “the Flash” Fernandes has been added to FEG’s Dynamite event, according to Five Ounces of Pain. The Brazilian professional mixed martial artist is on a 7-fight winning streak and last fought Joachin Hansen at DREAM 13 this past March. He won the fight via split decision.
Fernandes holds a record of 8-2 and has competed for K-1 and King of the Cage. His two losses came to Urijah Faber and Norifumi Yamamoto, and he holds notable wins over Joe Warren and Hiroyuki Takaya.
Fernandes has placed in Mundials on many occasions, with 1st place in the black belt super featherweight division in 2003, 2005 and 2006. He took 2nd place in the same division in 2004, and took home 1st place in the brown belt super featherweight division in 2002. He also came in 3rd in the blue belt roosterweight division in 1998.
[social][/social][einset][/einset]“The Flash” has been successful in Pan Ams as well, taking 3rd place in the black belt featherweight division in 2007 and 1st place in the black belt super featherweight division in 2004, 2005 and 2006.
Fernandes has also done well at the Brazilian championships, taking home 1st place in the black belt super featherweight division in 2002 and 2003, 1st place in the purple belt super featherweight division in 2001 and 1st place in the blue belt juvenile roosterweight division in 1997.
Although most of Fernandes’ MMA victories have been by decision, he does have three submission victories, including one arm bar, one triangle choke and one rear naked choke, all taking place before the 1 minute mark of the 1st round.
